  On the plus side the staff are very friendly and there is a good range of equipment. Unfortunately that good equipment is always drenched under a layer of other people's sweat because although the staff are friendly, no effort is made to ensure that patrons use towels while they train. As a result easily 50% of the patrons do not use towels. Never in twenty five years have I seen a gym less interested in maintaining the hygene of its facilities. I have not once seen a staff member speak to patrons about using towels, even after I have made polite complaints. I have never once seen a staff member cleaning a piece of equipment. This is a completely lost cause because even the staff members can't be bothered to use towels when they train. Frankly, it is disgusting, and I have no intention of renewing my membership when the compulsory period expires.
  
  UPDATE - I am updating this review because the staff have made a genuine effort to fix this issue. The situation is still not perfect, but it is certainly better than it was. I have bumped my score up to three stars.
